Parking FAQs

Arts Centre Melbourne's car park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We offer both casual and permanent parking options, and have a range of flat rates including Early Bird options and Accessible Parking. Valet parking is not currently available

Entry is via Kavanagh Street only.

The Arts Centre Melbourne car park operates on flat rates only - we do not have hourly rates. See information on our car parking page for details around rates at different times.

Arts Centre Melbourne's car park is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This means you can get access to your parked vehicle at any time of the day or night.

Pedestrian access to our Car Park is through the Theatres Building via Level 5, or after hours via the stairs adjacent to the National Gallery of Victoria moat.

Car park access for people who cannot use stairs is via Southbank Boulevard or by calling Arts Centre Melbourne Security on 9281 8316.

From Tuesday 21 May – Monday 1 July 2024, the Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park entry and exit is via Southbank Boulevard only.
There is no pedestrian access from the Arts Centre Melbourne Car Park to Kavanagh Street. Pedestrian access is via the footbridge on level four of the Primrose Potter Australian Ballet Centre (PPABC) during the building’s opening hours. To access this footbridge from Kavanagh Street, you can enter the PPABC building, take the lift to the fourth floor and cross the bridge to the Arts Centre Melbourne forecourt.

When the Theatres Building is closed, pedestrian access is via the stairwell located between the Arts Centre Melbourne forecourt and the National Gallery of Victoria moat. Car Park access for people who cannot use stairs is via Southbank Boulevard or by calling Arts Centre Melbourne security on 9281 8316.

Our car park has a strict height restriction of 1.9m, so please only use our car park if your vehicle complies with this.

If you regularly use the car park, a Permanent Parking contract could save you money and guarantee a parking space. You will get your own parking card to gain access to the car park whenever you want.

Contracts are available for one month ($390 per month) or twelve months ($295 per month) plus a once only set up fee of $25.
