Through Arts Industry Learning we’re developing the next generation of theatre production technicians. Our graduates go on to be technical experts in their own theatres, as well as in local and touring productions across Australia and beyond.
Arts Centre Melbourne has been an Industry Association Registered Training Organisation (RTO) since 1997. We’re currently the only performing arts centre in Australia providing an industry-specific nationally accredited professional development, training and assessment program in technical theatre production. And it’s available to not just our own technical production team but also to other live performance venues and the wider industry.
The training model is unique: classroom-based study is combined with structured mentoring, while working alongside the industry’s top directors, designers and performers. Our unique blend of technical expertise and mentoring incorporates:
