Sidney Myer Music Bowl is located in the Kings Domain Parklands, Linlithgow Avenue, Melbourne. All ticketholders are required to enter via Gate 1, located in front of the King George Monument.

Entering the venue

  • Share your mobile tickets with your group: More information on how to do this
  • Security check: You will be asked to show your ID and allow a search of bags or belongings. We recommend bags to be no bigger than A4 size to reduce queuing times.
  • Ticket scanning: Proceed to the ticket scanning point. Switch back to your mobile ticket screen to be scanned by a staff member.

Prohibited items

What not to bring! Be a team player and leave these prohibited items at home.

  • Alcohol (except for the MSO Free Concert Series)
  • Animals (except registered assistance animals)
  • Illicit substances
  • Dangerous or inappropriate goods (e.g. weapons, fireworks)
  • Professional cameras, tripods, selfie sticks, GoPros & iPads, laptops (personal camera phones will be permitted)
  • Sharp knives
  • Hard sided containers or eskies
  • Glass
  • Promotional material of any kind
  • Large sun umbrellas
  • Portable seating of any kind, tables, tents or sun shelters (unless stated otherwise)

While you’re here

Box office

Sidney Myer Music Bowl's box office is located outside the venue, to the right of the Gate 1 entrance. The box office will be attended by staff 1 hour prior to the gates opening.

Cloak room

Our cloak room facilities are available for all events. The cloak room is located outside the venue, to the right of the Gate 1 entrance.

Weather policy

We play rain, hail or shine. The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is an outdoor amphitheatre. If rain or bad weather occurs, the show will proceed, unless deemed unsafe to do so. If it’s looking a little rainy, don’t forget to bring a raincoat.

Umbrellas are allowed into the main lawn area but are required to be closed during the performance so as not to obstruct the view of those behind you.

Ponchos are available at the venue.

Dress code

As a licensed venue a minimum dress code applies. Please wear a shirt and shoes at all times.

Cashless venue

We are a cashless venue, accepting Visa, MasterCard and American Express payments.

Smoke-free venue

Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is not permitted within the venue. If you wish to smoke please proceed to the designated smoking area on the side hills.

Every decision we make has the wellbeing of audiences, artists and staff at its centre. This Plan details our safety protocols and procedures, which follow current government health directions.

Hand hygiene

Please practise good hygiene by regularly and thoroughly washing your hands. Hand sanitiser stations are available in several locations across the venue. Handwash will be regularly restocked in all bathrooms.

Venue cleaning

We conduct regular cleaning and sanitising Sidney Myer Music Bowl with approved disinfectant products throughout the day. We clean high touch points hourly.

First Aid

If you or a friend are feeling unwell, please seek First Aid help immediately. First Aid facilities are located between the food truck area and merchandise.

To help keep you safe, mobile crews of first aid staff will be roaming the venue throughout the event.

Report antisocial behaviour

Sidney Myer Music Bowl is a safe and inclusive space for all visitors. We do not tolerate any antisocial behaviour at our venues.
